SUPPORT TO THE ELECTORAL ASSISTANCE IN ARMENIA (SEPA)

The project is designed to deliver effective assistance to support Armenian stakeholders in improving the electoral process in line with the government’s commitment to organize credible and inclusive elections.

The project will contribute to the outcome “Democratic principles and institutions are reinforced through the support to the introduction of new technology for identification of voters, to increase the participation of voters in credible electoral processes”.

DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO


APPUI AU CYCLE ÉLECTORAL RÉVISÉ 2011-2015
01.11.2014 – 31.05.2017
EU Contribution: 1.256.434,05€

The purpose of the project in DRC is to ensure efficient coordination in assisting the electoral process to organize transparent and credible elections in compliance with international norms and regional instruments, encompassing gender equity.

The project also aims to strengthen institutional management capacities of electoral cycles.

GUINEA


PROJET D'APPUI AU CYCLE ÉLECTORAL DE LA GUINÉE - PACEG

EU Contribution: 10.000.000,00€

The objective of the project is to strengthen capacities of electoral administration in term of planning, resources mobilization and management, as well as building sustainable electoral processes.

PACEG also focuses the efforts on efficient and inclusive participation of women and youth coming from all social strata.

The project aims to enhance democratic participation, promote human rights and ensure free, fair, transparent, credible and peaceful electoral processes.

MALAWI


MALAWI ELECTORAL CYCLE SUPPORT PROJECT - MECS

The objective is to enable the Malawi Electoral Commission to sustainably deliver free, fair and credible election processes that reflect the will of the people in Malawi.

The project focuses on the electoral policy and regulatory framework, capacity-building activities, enhanced elections organization and management.

NEPAL


ELECTORAL SUPPORT PROJECT-INSTITUTIONAL STRENGTHENING AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT FOR THE ELECTION COMMISSION OF NEPAL (ESP)

SOLOMON ISLANDS


STRENGTHENING THE ELECTORAL CYCLE IN THE SOLOMON ISLANDS (SECSIP)

The overall objective of the project is to enhance electoral inclusiveness and integrity of the Solomon Islands.

To this end, we strive to create sustainable voter registration systems, design more effective and efficient electoral procedures, raise voters’ awareness and finally, strengthen capacities of the SIEC, national authorities and CSOs to advocate for women’s leadership and political participation in politics and decision making.

SOMALIA


UNDP/UNSOM JOINT PROGRAMME FOR SUPPORT TO THE ELECTORAL PROCESS IN THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF SOMALIA

EU Contribution: 5.193.878,00€

The project supports Somalia to conduct an electoral process in 2016 to renew its Federal Parliament and President, as well as to prepare for and hold universal (one person one vote) elections in the longer term.

Efforts focus on a twin-track approach: direct support to the ad hoc electoral management bodies for the 2016 process; versus the provision of long-term capacity-building support to the National Independent Electoral Commission (NIEC), the development of a legal framework for future elections and the awareness raising through civic education.

ZAMBIA


SUPPORT TO THE 2015-2017 ELECTORAL CYCLE

EU Contribution: 5.250.000,00€

The Electoral Cycle in Zambia is strengthened through consolidating the capacities of the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) and other electoral stakeholders.

The project’s objectives also encompass the strengthening of political party management and enhancing institutional effectiveness of Early Warning, incident mapping, and Alternative Dispute Resolution mechanisms.

ZIMBABWE


ZIMBABWE ELECTORAL COMMISSION CAPACITY BUILDING PROJECT (ZIM-ECO)
01.09.2016 – 30.08.2020
EU Contribution: 5.590.000,00€

The project aims to develop the institutional, organizational and electoral capacity of the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) to meet its Constitutional mandate.

One key element of the project consists in building credible and inclusive Voter Registration System for elections.

The project’s overall objective is to provide support to the Electoral Cycle in Jordan through an effective and strengthened Independent Election Commission (IEC).

Activities focus on IEC external relations with other stakeholders, Voter Registration Data Base and strengthening of Electoral dispute resolution mechanisms.

LIBYA


EUROPEAN UNION SUPPORT TO THE LIBYA ELECTORAL ASSISTANCE PROJECT

The overall objective of the project was to provide assistance to enable High National Elections Commission (HNEC) and relevant Libyan counterparts to prepare for and conduct successive well-administered, transparent and credible elections.

TANZANIA


DEMOCRATIC EMPOWERMENT PROJECT (DEP)
01.01.2014 – 31.12.2016
EU Contribution: 4.500.000,00€

The project has focused on increasing capacities of the key democratic institutions to support legal and institutional reforms, building capacities of EMBs and enhancing their engagement with stakeholders.

Outputs also encompass an inclusive participation in elections and politics enhanced through the empowerment of women, youth and people with disabilities.

Finally, the project has contributed to prevent election-related conflicts and put efforts to ensure gender equity in electoral processes.
